Benazir Kafalat Program 2024: Eligibility, Distribution, and Fraud Awareness

The Benazir Kafalat Program, also known as the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), is a special initiative by the Pakistani government aimed at providing cash assistance to those facing extreme poverty, particularly women and transgender individuals, across Pakistan. Every three months, eligible recipients receive stipends ranging from PKR 8500 to PKR 9000 in each district.

How Money is Distributed

The distribution of funds occurs through various channels, including biometric authentication at ATMs, designated locations of partner banks nationwide, and selected retail outlets. Bank Alfalah manages payments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, while Habib Bank handles transactions in Punjab, Islamabad, Sindh, and Balochistan.

Online Registration Process

For those eligible and interested in registering online for the Kafalat program, the Benazir Income Support scheme has introduced an online registration process. Eligible women can visit the official website of the Benazir Kafalat initiative. Upon arrival, they should navigate to the registration section and complete all required personal information, including details about family members, name, address, and contact number.

Criteria for Ineligibility in the Benazir Kafalat Program

Those falling under the following categories are not eligible for the program:

  • Individuals who file tax returns.
  • Owners of vehicles.
  • Government employees and their associates.
  • Individuals with a history of overseas travel.

Beware of Fraudulent Activities

It’s crucial to remain vigilant against potential scams related to the Benazir Kafalat Program. Only official sources, identified by the number 8171, are authorized to communicate regarding the program. Any communication alleging affiliation with the National Socioeconomic Registry (NSER) Survey or promising money from unknown callers should be treated as fraudulent. Avoid disclosing personal information such as your name, address, CNIC number, or bank account details to such callers.

If you receive suspicious messages, report them to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) at 0800-55055. Remember, there is no fee associated with participating in the survey.
